PET Myocardial Viability Study Prep and Instructions

  • Patients are to have a high carb diet 24 hours prior to the study.
  • Patients are to have a high glucose meal 1 hour to study, (such as pancakes with syrup and soda). 
  • Patient relaxation is important. A patient sits quietly in waiting room for 60 to 90 minutes after FDG injection in complete relaxation without any activity.  Excessive activity may compromise the outcome of the test.
  • PATIENT NEEDS TO BRING PREVIOUS MRI, CT, ECHO, NUCLEAR SCAN, STRESS TEST RESULTS AND OR FILMS
